The Sōkidan is a energy sphere technique, and one of Yamcha's signature moves.

Usage

The Sōkidan is a technique Yamcha premiered at the 23rd Tenkaichi Budōkai, against Shen (who was God possessing a human body).[4] The technique is a concentrated ball of ki energy, floating above Yamcha's palm. Yamcha then throws the sphere at his opponent, and manipulates the orb with his index and middle finger outstretched. With his ability to control the trajectory of the sphere, Yamcha is able to outmaneuver and confuse his targets by weaving the Sōkidan around them in circles, confusing even Kami, who was stronger than him at the time. Unlike most energy spheres, the Sōkidan does not explode on contact, serving more as a blunt force projectile, enabling it to burrow underground and surprise the opponent with a sneak attack.[5]

While the technique is unique to Yamcha in the manga, in the anime, Kulilin has been shown utilizing the technique as well.
