Notability, on Dragon Universe Wiki, refers to content that merits its own article here on our wiki. The following is a guide to the notability requirements of this wiki.
Requirements[]
The following list denotes what this wiki considers notable enough to warrant an article on our site:
- Any canon material is immediately notable and warrants its own article.
- Non-canon material — specifically material from the anime, movies, games, official crossovers, and spin-offs — warrant their own articles.
- Works that were worked on, partially or in totality, by Akira Toriyama (e.g., Dr. Slump) warrant at least a single article detailing them.
- Should said content feature content from Dragon Ball (e.g., Neko Majin), however, the community may decide whether or not to expand upon said content on the wiki.
- Persons who have worked significantly with the Dragon Ball series, such as other authors, musicians, editors, etc. also warrant their own article.
- Companies — such as Shueisha Publishing Co., Ltd. — which are heavily involved in the production of Dragon Ball-related goods/media warrant an article.
Fan works[]
Generally, fan works are considered fanon and are not permitted on the wiki. Exceptions can be made, however. Fan works may warrant an article if any of the following criteria is met:
- Official recognition. Fan-related subjects that receive extensive recognition or official endorsement from Akira Toriyama, Shueisha Publishing Co., Ltd., or its licensees may be suitable for an article. This can also include, to a lesser extent, recognition or acceptance from the cast of Dragon Ball media, such as the voice actors.
- Mainstream recognition. Fan-related subjects that receive extensive and, most importantly, mainstream media recognition may be suitable enough to warrant an article. Note that this is the most difficult form of recognition to substantiate. Media coverage must be both substantial (in number and size) and from a major mainstream outlet that is not specifically devoted to Dragon Ball news (i.e., Kanzenshuu), including but not limited to news media, entertainment trades, or entertainment websites. Any single mention or a few mentions from a mainstream media outlet(s) does not automatically qualify.
If you are unsure whether a fan work meets either of these criteria, community consensus is the best route to take.
Fan subjects should typically receive only one article. For example, an author's blogs should simply be covered in the author article with appropriate external links as needed. People credited with the creation of a fan website or project (i.e., Team Four Star) may not have individual articles.
