The Demon Realm (魔界, Makai; FUNimation "Demon Plane"), sometimes referred as Devil Realm (悪魔界, Akumakai), also known as the Demon Realm of Darkness (暗黒魔界, Ankoku Makai), is the dimension that serves as the homeworld of the Demons. It exists at the very bottom of the spherical universe. It is ruled by a king.[1]

A doorway to the Demon Realm, known as the Demon Realm Gate (魔界の門, Makai no Mon), exists on the planet Earth. The village in which it is located was named for the fact that demons would escape the gate at night and rampage.
