Summary

As the eight finalists await the lottery, Tenshinhan continues to chastise Kame-Sennin's students, leading Yamcha and Kulilin to confront Tenshinhan and Chaozu, respectively. After Tenshinhan orders Chaozu to stop the bickering, the announcer begins the lottery. Tenshinhan notices one of the contestants bearing a grudge against Jackie Chun, and subsequently, he instructs Chaozu to manipulate the lottery picks.

During the process of everyone receives their numbers, there is a lot of confrontation, such as Man Wolf becoming irate over being referred to as "Wolf Man," and being exhilarated at the chance to face Jackie Chun. Soon afterwards, the rest of the matchups end up being Tenshinhan versus Yamcha, Kulilin versus Chaozu, and Gokū versus Panput. After Tenshinhan further insults Kame-Sennin's students, he thanks Chaozu for setting up the fights.

Meanwhile, Bulma, Oolong and Pu'ar are frustrated with Kame-Sennin's disappearance after Lunch, oblivious to this, managed to get the Dragon Team a front row seat. The 22nd Tenka-Ichi Budōkai commences with Yamcha facing off versus Tenshinhan, and the animosity between the schools of Kame Sennin and Tsuru Sennin is palpable as the duel begins.
